This procedure covers how to prepare, cut in and seal existing downpipes in a house gutter.

Clearly mark the position of the downpipe with a black texta or chalk on the roof or tiles before relining.

Sharps or protrusions must be removed and buffed smooth with a grinder or wire brush.

Downpipes must be thoroughly clean and dry.

Starting 25mm away from the edge, apply a 30mm bead of Silicon around the downpipe. Using a 70mm spatula, spread the silicone around the downpipe and over the edge
